• Palisades Park Jr./Sr. High School

Palisades Park Jr./Sr. High School is a public school of approximately 723 students in grades 7 through 12. We strive to provide our students with a safe learning environment to promote a nurturing and academically challenging setting. Situated just under 5 miles miles from New York City and in one of the most densely populated areas in the world, we are uniquely diverse in our student population. We embrace the challenges and rewards of students from many different cultures coming together with the singular purpose to develop intellectually. The faculty, staff, and administration of Palisades Park Jr./Sr. High School are steadfast in our pursuit to prepare our students for the next phase of their lives. Whether they choose to enter the military, workforce, or continue their education, we are dedicated to our students and developing future leaders.

Our Academy Program for entering 9th graders has evolved over the past decade and now includes three separate courses of study: Medical, Engineering, and Humanities.  Students apply as 8th graders and commit themselves to a rigorous, highly competitive program, which includes at least 6 Advanced Placement courses. Since our first graduating class in 2014, students who have successfully completed the Academy Program have gone on to attend Yale, Princeton, Northwestern, Cooper Union, Johns Hopkins, Vassar, and many more of the world’s best universities.

Students, grades 9-12, not enrolled in the Academy Program do have the opportunity to enroll 14 Advanced Placement courses and many other Honors-level courses. All students, grades 7-12, benefit from 2 computer labs, a Media Center/STEM room, classrooms with interactive SmartBoards, and iPad or computer carts available on each floor. Our student-to-computer ratio is currently 2:1.

We feel our Middle Schoolers benefit from having access to the high school resources. In addition to Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts, students in grades 7 and 8 choose from Korean, Spanish, and Italian. They also take courses in the fields of Fine Arts, Music, Computers, Geography, Video Production, Robotics, Astronomy, and Civics. Exposing these students to a variety of courses during 7th and 8th grade serves them well as they begin to prepare for the rigors of high school.

In addition to the aforementioned academic programs, we offer a variety of afterschool clubs and athletics to ensure the complete student experience. At Palisades Park Jr./Sr. High School we are committed to creating a strong foundation upon which our students can build a solid future.
