Palisades Park Jr./Sr. High School is a public school of approximately 675 students in grades 7 through 12. We strive to provide our students with a safe learning environment to promote a nurturing and academically challenging setting. Situated just under 5 miles miles from New York City and in one of the most densely populated areas in the world, we are uniquely diverse in our student population. We embrace the challenges and rewards of students from many different cultures coming together with the singular purpose to develop intellectually. The faculty, staff, and administration of Palisades Park Jr./Sr. High School are steadfast in our pursuit to prepare our students for the next phase of their lives. Whether they choose to enter the military, workforce, or continue their education, we are dedicated to our students and developing future leaders.
Our Academy Program for entering 9th graders has evolved over the past decade and now includes three separate courses of study: Medical, Engineering, and Humanities. Students apply as 8th graders and commit themselves to a rigorous, highly competitive program, which includes at least 6 Advanced Placement courses. Since our first graduating class in 2014, students who have successfully completed the Academy Program have gone on to attend Yale, Princeton, Northwestern, Cooper Union, Johns Hopkins, Vassar, and many more of the world’s best universities.
Students, grades 9-12, not enrolled in the Academy Program do have the opportunity to enroll 14 Advanced Placement courses and many other Honors-level courses. All students, grades 7-12, benefit from 2 computer labs, a Media Center/STEM room, classrooms with interactive SmartBoards, and iPad or computer carts available on each floor. Our student-to-computer ratio is currently 2:1.
We feel our Middle Schoolers benefit from having access to the high school resources. In addition to Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts, students in grades 7 and 8 choose from Korean, Spanish, and Italian. They also take courses in the fields of Fine Arts, Music, Computers, Geography, Video Production, Robotics, Astronomy, and Civics. Exposing these students to a variety of courses during 7th and 8th grade serves them well as they begin to prepare for the rigors of high school.
In addition to the aforementioned academic programs, we offer a variety of afterschool clubs and athletics to ensure the complete student experience. At Palisades Park Jr./Sr. High School we are committed to creating a strong foundation upon which our students can build a solid future.
The Palisades Park High School Hall of Fame Committee is proud to announce this year's inductees into the Palisades Park High School Athletic Hall of Fame. The following individuals remind us of our unique traditions and history while encouraging all to always wear our school colors with pride.

NEW PALISADES PARK HIGH SCHOOL WELLNESS CENTER!
On May 15, Palisades Park hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the new Wellness Center at the Palisades Park Jr./Sr. High School. The Wellness Center will provide the services of a school psychologist in a drop-in setting to offer immediate interventions and support for students who perceive themselves as in crisis or just need to talk.
Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Joseph Cirillo, said, “Opening a wellness center for our students was a top priority for me because research documents that a positive school climate leads to decreased school violence and aggression, increased academic achievement and improved attitudes among students and staff.”
Joining the celebration was Bergen County Executive, James J. Tedesco who underscored Bergen County’s efforts to expand the Stigma-Free initiative. “I applaud the Palisades Park School District for joining the Stigma-Free movement and facilitating the physical and emotional health of its students, educators and staff.”

Dear Parents/Guardians of Palisades Park Jr./Sr. High School:
Across the nation, there has been a significant increase in the use of electronic smoking devices by students to “vape” tobacco and other nicotine products. In fact, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse for Teens, electronic smoking devices (often called “vapes” or “e-cigarettes”) are the most common nicotine delivery system among youth in the United States.
Vapes are battery-operated devices that deliver nicotine and/or flavorings without burning tobacco. In most e-cigarettes, puffing activates the battery powered heating device, which vaporizes the liquid in the cartridge. The resulting vapor is then inhaled (called ”vaping”). On many vapes and e-cigarettes that are being used, the wattage can be turned up to an unnecessary high level, thus promoting a higher concentration of nicotine per puff. Despite growing in popularity, many questions remain over vapes and potential health risks. Because vapes can contain nicotine, they may serve as a “gateway” drug to addict yount people who may go on to regular cigarettes or smokeless tobacco. In the state of New Jersey, it is illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to purchase a vape pen or cartridge.
