A message from the principal
It is hard to believe that the1st trimester of the school year is over. I am proud of the progress that our students have made so far this year. Congratulations to the 5th & 6th grade students who made honors. Students who made Principal’s List will be treated to a special breakfast on January 11th.
Our students have been engaged in many exciting learning experiences, especially in Science. New Jersey has adapted new science standards that increased rigor and expectations. Students are having fun with hands-on experiments. Our school has received a $500.00 Exxon Mobil Educational Alliance Grant that will be used to help purchase supplies for our experiments. We would like to thank Exxon Mobil and Mr. Nasr from our local Exxon station for continuing to consider our school worthy of this grant.
Our teachers have also been engaged in numerous professional development activities to help your children achieve the expected goals while raising engagement. Teachers continue to learn in our Professional Learning Community, afterschool meetings, and outside workshops.
Students participated in many enjoyable and educational events such as: Week of Respect, Red Ribbon Week, fire safety instruction, costume parade, Turkey Trot, 50th day of school, Polar Express, and the PTA Holiday Boutique. Some of our 1st and 2nd grade students sang at the town Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony and the Winter Concert was a great success enjoyed by all!
Lastly, regular attendance and punctuality are the basis to a sound educational experience. Students who are absent or late miss out on valuable instructional time. We wish to instill a sense of accountability and dependability in our children. We need your support to do so.
Warm regards for a happy and healthy New Year.
