A Message from the Principal

The end of the school year is quickly approaching.  It is hard to believe that summer is on the way. I continue to be proud of the progress that our students have made throughout the year.

During the month of April, students and staff once again successfully participated in the PARCC test.  The tests went smoothly with a minimum of problems.  The entire school community anxiously awaits the results.  I will continue to keep you informed.

Students participated in many exciting events this school year.  Assemblies, concerts, field day, book fair, and class trips were just a few.  Read Across America and the author visit were two fun events enjoyed by all.  Lastly, students participated in the Student Council Walk-A-Thon, Talent Show, Vocabulary Parade, and the Torch Run sponsored by the Palisades Park Police.

PPHS Wellness Center Opening!

NEW PALISADES PARK HIGH SCHOOL WELLNESS CENTER!

On May 15, Palisades Park hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the new Wellness Center at the Palisades Park Jr./Sr. High School.  The Wellness Center will provide the services of a school psychologist in a drop-in setting to offer immediate interventions and support for students who perceive themselves as in crisis or just need to talk.

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Joseph Cirillo, said, “Opening a wellness center for our students was a top priority for me because research documents that a positive school climate leads to decreased school violence and aggression, increased academic achievement and improved attitudes among students and staff.”

Joining the celebration was Bergen County Executive, James J. Tedesco who underscored Bergen County’s efforts to expand the Stigma-Free initiative.  “I applaud the Palisades Park School District for joining the Stigma-Free movement and facilitating the physical and emotional health of its students, educators and staff.”
