Lindbergh School Reading Summer Resources

Summer Reading Project:

Studies have shown that having students read 4 or 5 books over the summer months can prevent reading achievement loss.  Each student entering Lindbergh School in September will be required to complete a “Summer Reading Project” appropriate for his/her grade level and a reading log. Students entering Grade 1 will be required to complete a reading log

Both should be completed and handed in by September 14, 2017 to his/her teacher.  There is also an optional writing project that your child may complete if they visit a special place over the summer.

Here are some online resources and incentives to help your child with his/her reading progress over the summer:

Lindbergh Elementary Principal's Message

Lindbergh Elementary School

A Message from the Principal

The end of the school year is quickly approaching.  It is hard to believe that summer is on the way. I continue to be proud of the progress that our students have made throughout the year.

During the month of May, students and staff once again successfully participated in the PARCC test.  The tests went smoothly with a minimum of problems.  The entire school community anxiously awaits the results.  I will continue to keep you informed.

Students participated in many exciting events this school year.  Assemblies, concerts, field day, book fair, and class trips were just a few.  Read Across America and the author visit were two fun events enjoyed by all.  Lastly, students participated in the Student Council Walk-A-Thon and the Torch Run sponsored by the Palisades Park Police.

Teachers continued to engage in professional development opportunities to stay on top of the latest instructional strategies to enhance student learning. Teachers attended both outside and in-house workshops throughout the year.  They learned at grade level, department level, on-line, and through the Professional Learning Community.  Some of our teachers will also attend professional development in the summer.
